During my p.t. session this Morning Audry and I first met with the representative from New Enland Brace company in my room. He was there to give me my brace. After making a couple of adjustments I have to say it fits quite well. At least now my leg doesn't buckle anymore. I am also using just my cane for balance. It doesn't get any better than this. I am sure it will, but for right now. Ausom!!!!!!!!! You'll never guess what tomrrow is? Discharge Day! I finally get to go home. It has been since May 2 the day of my stroke where I went to Eastern Maine Medical Center in Bangor to spend a month before I was transported to St. Mary's d'youville pavilion Rehab Center. where I have been staying to recieve rehab since June 1. It is not over yet. In two weeks I will begin out patient rehab at WestSide Neourorehab Services on Main Street in Lewiston, Maine. Prior to my Stroke I was attending WestSide for cognitive rehab now it will be a combination of cognitive and physical. Looking forword to the day that I can actually say, my journey towards recovery is complete. Who knows when that will be, but ever how long it takes, I'll be riding that train.
YAAAY, Troy!!!! (Even though you made me cry - glad, not sad.) You REALLY are riding that train--next stop: SKIING!! Determination (not to mention a lot of sweat, I'm sure)is paying off! So happy for you - now, go home!
