Working on my balance while unloading bails of hay and bags of soil
My Monday morning began at 7:00 a.m. by going out into the kitchen so as to drink my hot cocoa while eating some fruit. I then had a bowl of cereal with a piece of toast. At 7:30 I then returned to my bedroom so as to brush my teeth and shave before starting in with my stretching. After doing so, I then began my weight workout. At 8:00 I then took my shower, thus getting ready to go to WestSide. At 9:30 I had then grabbed my lunch and my duffle bag and out the door I went. I had arrived at WestSide at 11:00. Once I had put my things into my locker, I then made my way to the gym for my P.T. session with Liz. Today we started by strapping the gate belt around my waist before going outside to walk on the uneven surface. Liz then had me doing single leg stands, tandem and modified tandem standing on the uneven surface. I then worked on dionamic balance activities. In doing so Liz had me throwing bails of hay off from a truck to use for gardening group that John just came back with. I then took bags of soil off the truck. Liz had me in a gate belt as I was doing so, to help with my balance. Liz then had me make a square with four bails of hay. I then opened a bag of soil so as to put in the middle. I t felt great to be doing something real while working on my balance during p.t. At 12:00 I then took a shower befoe eating my lunch. At 12:30 I then met with nurse Brenda. She had first taken my blood pressure. 118 over 76. We then discussed my upcoming appointment at Mass. General. At 1:00 during my rehab session with Deb, we worked on finding pictures to put in my book. At 2:00 I then met with Piper for case management. United Wheelchair then brought me home. Upon my arrival, I had slipped into something comfortable. I had slept all the way home, so I was not in any mood for a nap. I then spoke to my mother while snacking on popcorn and ice water. I then sat down to eat dinner 4:45. At 5:50 I had returned to my bedroom so as to blog.
