Crating a relaxation box during recreational therapy
My Tuesday morning began at 5:00 a.m. by getting out of bed so as to do the stretches that I had learned to help me during my latest stroke. Once I was loosened up, I then began to do my back stretches. At 5:30 I then shaved before taking my shower. Once I was ready for the day ahead, I then went into the kitchen so as to eat my fruit with fruit dip while drinking my hot cocoa. Once I had finished eating, I then returned to my bedroom at 6:12, so as to brush my teeth. Once I had taken in some air with my inhaler, I then put my eye and nose drops in. I then grabbed my knapsack and met the United Wheelchair driver in my driveway, who would driving me to WestSide Neurorehab. Upon my arrival for 9:00 a.m. I had gone to the client lounge to wait. At 9:15 I then went to Nancy’s office. She was covering for Priyadarshi. Today I had first looked at my latest e-mail from Judy from the devision of the blind. She had let me know if I had not heard from an O&M instructor from a weeks time of her latest e-mail to let her know. I then e-mailed Judy with Nancy doing just that, letting her know mother has happened. Nancy showed me how to make an orogarmy. She then gave me one to take home. She has a dozen or more hanging on her office door for clients to take with them. 10:00 I then went to Tobie’s office for my recreational therapy session. Tobie first showed the project they had made in Fridays special event that I was not able to attend. It was a relaxation box. What you do is write down some things that make you feel calm and stick them in the box. Then you use essential oils to make a blend. Mine was made up of lavender, Frankensence, mixed with sweet almond oil fractionated. Once Tobie had showed me the project, I then shower her the progress Kala and I are making on my book. We then looked at my blog. At 11:00 I then went to the craft room for expressive arts. Today I was the only client to arrive, so Cec help me with a project she had brought to the group. It was a board that I painte red, with pine cones and nuts arranged and hot glued to the piece of wood. I then tied a bow on it. I had made two before leaving for home at 12:00. I had arrived home at 1:20. Once I had put on something more comfortable, I then had eaten my lunch. At 1:45 I then packed up some cookies with my mother so as to bring to WestSide tomorrow to share with the therapist that work there. At 2:25 I then laid down to rest and slept until 4:34. Once had taken s shower, I then went into the kitchen so as to eat dinner. I then returned to my bedroom so as to pull up my blog and to tamp of my day.
