The day spent at camp with my dad

I began my morning at 4:45 a.m. by doing my stretching and my leg and arm weight exercises. I then went to the kitchen at 5:45 to eat my breakfast. myy mother had made me a fried egg sandwhich. At 6:00 I then went back to my bedroom to take my shower and get ready to go to WestSide. Little did I know I would be spending another day away from rehab. At 8:45 I then called United to see what time I would be picked, because my first theropy was at 9:30. Come to find out I wasn't schedule for transprotation today. Come to find out there had been a mix up of communication between WestSide and United when sending over the clients schedule to United. Yesturday a driver showed up and I wasn't shedule and today no one showed up and I was schedule. Oh well, tomorrows another day. At 9:00 I then started a load of laundry. Mellissa from WestSide called to appologize. She had made the mistake when sending my schedule to United. At 9:40 I then hung the laundry out to dry. At 10:00 my father came home and together we went out to camp for the day. Along the way we stopped off at the Ugly Moose to pick up sandwhich's for lunch. Once we had arrived at camp, I put my bathing sute on and a life jacket. My father then helped me into the water. the temperature of the water was so warm I had floated around for an hour. At 11:45 my father then helped me out onto dry land. Once I was in dry clothing, my father and I sat down to eat lunch. Once we had done so, I then lied down to rest. I had slept for a couple of hours while my father was outside mowing the lawn and picking up around the camp. At 3:00 we left to go home. Along the way my father had stopped to give me a haircut. We arrived home at 4:00. I then called United to pick me up Monday at my sister in scarbourogh, then to bring me to WestSide. Once off the phone I then proceded to do my stretching. After my shower, I then went out into the kitchen to eat dinner with my parents. At 6:00 I then sat down to do my daily blog.

A Doctor's appointment with Dr. Kulandavel my Neurologist in Bangor

I begna my Monday morning at 5:30 a.m. by doing my stretching and weight exercises. At 6:20 I then went to the kitchen to eat some left over crepes for breakfast. At 7:00 I then returned to my bedroom to take my shower and get ready to go to the doctors with my dad in Bangor. At 8:00 United Wheel Chair showed up unanounced to take me to WestSide, but some how along the line things were miscommunicated. Oh well a mistake was made in this world, we'll get over it. Once we were ready, my father and I had left for Bangot to meet with my neurologist Dr. Kulandavel. Before leaving Farmington we stopped to fill up with gas, not a bad idea. Upon our arrivel to Neurology Associates of Eastern Maine in Bangor, I checked in and soon was taken in to see the Doctor. One positive thing that was great to hear was when he had told me is that I have 90% of my mobility back. At 12:00 my father and I then went to Govenor's for to eat lunch. Once we had finished eating at 1:00 we then left to go home. After a two hour drive home, we finally arrived in the driveway at 3:00. Upon my arrivel home I then jumped on the swin air dine at 3:15 and rode it until 3:45. I then went up to my bedroom to do my weight exercises, both arm and leg. I then put my laundry away before taking my shower. I then went to the kitchen to talk with my mother before going into my bedroom to do my daily blog.

mmm Crepes for breakfast

I began my Sunday morning at 8:30 a.m. by getting up to do my stretching and weight exercises. I then went to the kitchen to eat my breakfast. My mother had made crepes this morning, "MY FAVORITE!" Once I had finished eating I then went into my bathroom at 9:00 to take my shower and get ready to go to church. At 9:30 I then cleaned my bathroom. My mother and then left to go to church at 10:00 picking my grandmother up along the way. After church was let out, we brought my grandmother home.We arrived home at 11:45. I then had some lunch, a piece of left over pizza and a hot dog. I then brushed my teeth before laying down to rest. I had slept from 12:30-3:00. I then went downstairs to ride the swin air dine for thirty minutes. Once I was done I then went to my bedroom to do my weight exercises, both arm and leg. I then stretched. After doing so I sat down to blog before taking my shower. I then went to the kitchen to eat dinner with my parents.

I love to play cribbage!!!

I began my Saturday morning at 8:45 a.m. by getting up and going out into the kitchen to eat my breakfast with my sister Barbara. My mother had made dropped eggs on toast for us. At 9:15 I then returned to my bedroom to brush my teeth and shave before going downstairs to ride for thirty minutes. At 9:55 I then returned to my bedroom to do my weight exercises, finishing up my workout with my stretching routine until 10:55. At 11:10 I then took a shower. Once I was comfortable and tired once again, I then lied down to rest at 11:30 and I slept until 2:30. Once I had got up I went out to the kitchen to eat some lunch. At 3:00 I then played cribbage with my mother until 4:45. I then went to my bedroom to take my shower. At 5:00 I then sat down to do my daily blog entree, before eating dinner.

The Results of My Breathing Test

I began my Friday morning at 9:00 a.m. by getting up with my sister Barbara and eating breakfast at camp. At 9:30 I after I had brushed my teeth my sister and I had begun to clean the camp. I started by cleaning the bathrooms upstairs and down, while my sister focussed on vaccuuming and cleaning the upstairs bedrooms. At 10:15 I then cleaned the kitchen, wiping down the cupboards, sink, stove, ect. At 11:30 my sister and then went to the bunk house the hang the curtains that my mother had brought home the clean after she had cleane the bunkhouse. At 12:oo I had eaten the other half of my sandwhich from last night for lunch. At 12:15 I then lied down to rest. I had slept until 2:45. Barbara and I then packed up the car and went home. We arrived home at 3:15 Once we had the car unpacked I then went to my bedroom to shave before going to get the mail. Once I was back inside I then rode the swin air dine for thirty minutes. At 4:00 I then did my my weight exercises, I then stretched. At 5:00 I then went into the kitchen to talk with my parents and sister. They had showed me a piece of mail I had received from Farmington Family Practiced on the results of my pulmonary function test. The test showed that I have a mild obstructive defect without response to an inhaled bronchodilator. My doctor has recommende that I go see a pulmonogist. I have an appointment with my neourologist Monday in Bangor for a routine chech up. While there I will get his input on the situation. At:45 I then took a shower to get comfortable for the evening, before going to the kitchen to speak with my parents and sister.

Cycling along the Back Bay

I began Thursday morning at 4:00 a.m. by getting up to stretch and to do my weight exercises. At 5:00 I thhen made my way to the kitchen to eat my breakfast before showering. Once  I had done so I then continued to get ready for my day ahead. At 6:15 I thentook an air flo reading: 410, 440, 490. At 7:15 Lee from United Wheel Chair brought me to WestSide. Upon my arrivel to WestSide for 8:15 Mellisa the receptionist gave me my schedule for next weeks theropy. Sue, Danny, and I then left with Toby and carol for the Bay Bay in Portland. Along the way I was told I was able to attend todays session, because another client had cancelled. We arrved there at 9:00. We then got set up to do the cycling  with Maine Handicapped Skiing. Once we had our helmets on and were strapped into out bikes we tooked off around the Back Bay, which averages out to be a four mile ride. Once we had finished our ride we then ate lunch before heading back to WestSide. Upon our arrivel back Larry from United Wheel Chair took me home. I arrived home at  3:00. I went right inside to my bedroom to pack to go to camp with my sister Barbara. I then took a shower before leaving.

It's nice to be doing the things I use to be doing, before my stroke!

I began my Wednesday morning at 6:50 a.m. by starting a load of laundry before sitting down to eat my cereal and english muffin for breakfast. Once I had finished eating, I then hung the laundry out to dry. At 7:55 I then started another load of laundry, before jumping on the swin air dine at 8:00. I had peddaled for thirty minutes. I then went to my bedroom to do my weight exercises both leg and arm. At 8:45 I then hung another laod to dry. At 9:15 I preceded to do my stretching. After taking my shower I then continued to get ready to go to WestSide. I then lieddown to rest for thirty minutes. I then got up to have a bite to eat before leaving  for WestSide. Larry from United had picked my up at 11:30. I had arrived at theropy at 1:00 p.m. I begain by attending support group with Deb. Today the group discussed week 23. " Eccepting yourself just the way you are" Tod, Dee Dee, Denise, and I started with our group putting a fist in and saying "STAY POSITIVE!" we then continued to by checking in and discussing todays topic. Some of the questions discussed were;  How does it feel to be disabled? How do you deal with change? At 2:00 I then had P.T. Deb had covered for Dan. I started by doing leg exercises in the parallel bars. We then went to the computer to look up information on the New Englands 2nd annual Blind / Visually Impaired Ski Festival held up at Sugarloaf Mountain in Carrabassett Valley, Maine. At 3:00 United then took me home. I arrived home at 4:10. Upon my arrivel home I did some stretching and weight exercises before taking my shower. I then sat down to eat some dinner before going to my bedroom to do my daily blog.

The Pink Elephant

I began my Tuesday morning at 4:30 a.m. by getting up to do my stretching. At 5:15 I then switched over to my weight exercises, both leg and arm. I then went downstairs to ride the swin air dine for thirty minutes before eating my breakfast. A bowl of cereal and english muffin should do. I then went to my bedroom to shave and take my shower. Once I was ready, I grabbed my lunch and my bag with my things in it and went by the door to wait for United to arrive. Upon my arrivel to WestSide for my 9:00 a.m. Yoga group David, Donald, Mat and I first did our breathing exercises with Jen and Michelle before taking out the mats to sit on the floor. Once we had done our exercises I then went to Finding meaning group with Jennifer. Doug and I first checked in with one another, Doug having problems with sleep and I with my headaches. We then discussed todays topic, "Practicing  Gratitude." Being able to count our blessings for what we do have and not think about what coould have been. For the week we are not to think about the Pink Elephant, to help you become problem free. After my break I had my nursing session with Sally. She first took my blood pressure, 112 over 62. Sally then took my o2 sat which was 97-98%. Sally then mentioned how I shoule talk to Dr. k. Monday about my breathing. Mywind pipe feels like it is closing. My headache seels to be consistantly worse during activity. At 12:00 I then went to the kitchen to eat my lunch before leaving to go home. I arrived home at 2:00. Once inside I jumped on the swin air dine and rode it for thirty minutes. At 3:00 I then started a load of laundry, before doing my weight exercises. I then took my shower before hanging the laundry out to dry. At 5:00 I then ate spaghetti for dinner with my father. I then went into my bedroom to blog.

Allergy season, It is a killer!

I began my Monday morning at 5:00 a.m. by non other then stretching my muscles and doing my weight exercises. I then took out the worksheets I had been given to me in Yoga Group at WestSide and began to do the exercises on each worksheet adding them to my daily routine. I'll do anything to help this body of mine heal. At 6:00 I then went out into the kitchen to eat my breakfast. At 6:40 I then went back into my bedroom to brush my perly whites and to fill my daily pill containers. At 7:00 I had to take two advil to help with a headache I had. This time of year between the allergy season in full swing and what ever else I might have going on, the headaches I axperience can become quite unbelievablly painful. I then took my shower continuing to get ready for my day ahead. I then took an air flo reading. 610, 490, 420. Once I was ready, I then gathered my things to go wait by the door, United Wheelchair had soon arrived to bring me to WestSide. Upon my arrivel for 10:00 a.m. I had P.T. with Dan. Dan first took my blood pressure. 112 over 80. Dan then had me doing some leg exercises in the parallel bars. I also worked on my balance. Dan then had me walking in the halls. Do to the headache I had been experiencing we layed low on the physical stuff and did something cognitive, by going on line to look up allergies. After my P.T. workout my blood pressure read 106 over 76 During my break I went into the kitchen to take it easy. At 11:15 I then meet with Piper for my fifteen minute case management session. She was mentioning to speak to my neourologisy about my headaches, I have an appointment this coming Monday. I then had a support session with the nurse Sally who was covering for Deb. Sally had treated the time like a nursing session. She first took my blood pressure reading again, 126 over 72. Then she took my oxygen reading 99%. At 12:00 John from United took me home. I arrived home at 1:00. Upon doing so, I had some lunch. At 1:30 I then emptied the dishwasher before laying down at 1:45. I had slept until 5:00 before getting up to go sit out on the deck with my father for thirty minutes. I then went inside to take my shower before eating dinner, We had lobster rolls with the left over lobster meat from the other day. I then sat down to blog.

A summer seafood feast.

I  began my Sunday morning at 7:30 a.m. by doing my stretching for thirty minutes. I then shaved before going out into the kitchen to my breakfast. Once I had eaten a bowl of cereal and toasted english muffin, I then brushed my teeth at 8:40 before going to ride the swin air dine for thirty minutes. At 9:20 I then took my shower thus getting ready to go to church. At 10:00 my mother, sister and I went to the Pierce House to pick up my grandmother. While at church today they had four baptisms. There was no homily. The priest had it typed out on paper for anyone who would like to take a copy to read. After church, we then took my grandmother home before going to hanaford to pick up some things. My sister mother and I then went home. We arrived home at 12:00. Upon doing so I had some left over spaghetti for lunch. I then brushed my teeth before laying down to rest. I had slept from 12:30 until 3:30 before getting up. I then made my way into the kitchen to visit with my family. I then went back to my bedroom at 5:00 to do my weight exercises, both leg and arm. I then did some yoga exercises. I had taken home some work sheets from WestSide to help me remember on how to do it. Once I had finished my workout, I then made my way back to the kitchen to eat Lobster, clams, corn on the cob, and potato salad with my family. The highlight of my day. Once I had finished eating, I went to take a shower, before sitting down to blog. WHAT A FEAST!!!

Pineapple Zucchini Bread for breakfast

I began my Saturday morning by getting up at 9:00 a.m. I then went to the kitchen to eat some fruit before going downstairs to ride the swin air dine for thirty minutes. I then made my way back upstairs to my bedroom at 9:30 to do my weight exercises. At 9:55 I then stretched for thiry minutes before going back out into the kichen to eat my breakfast. My mother had made three loaves of pineapple zucchini bread. At 11:00 I then vaccuumed my bedroom. I then eptied everything out of my closet putting it out onto my deck so that I could vaccuum the rug in my closet. At 12:00 I then organized the towels in my bathroom to make the area a little more neat. At 1:50 I then lied down to rest. I had slept until 3:00 before getting up to take a shower. I then played words with friends for a while. My sister had arrived at 3:30. We then ordered a pizza from the House of Pizza. My sister and I then went to pick it up. We arrived home at 4:30 thus sitting down to eat. Once she and I had finnished eating, I then went to my bedroom to blog.

What do you do when you can't sleep? Just lay there?

I began my Friday mornnig at 9:45 a.m. by taking the sheets off my bed. At 10:00 I then had eaten peanutbutter flavored cherios and toasted english muffin for breakfast. Along with it I also had the usual dosage of fruit: bananna, strawberries, ect. At 10;15 I brushed my teeth before riding the swin airdine for thirty minutes. At 11:00 I then went to my bedroom to do my weight exercises. At 11:30 I continued by stretching. After my shower I then began a load of laundry before cleaning my bathroom. I then took an air flo reading: 470, 480, 450.Once I had done so I then began a load of laundry. I then went back to my bedroom to make my bed. I then went to the wash room to retrieve the laundry to hang out on the clothing line. At 1:30 I lied down to rest, and that is all I did today is rest. I was unable to fall to sleep, but the rest felt good just the sam. Once I was up I had filled out a form to be sent to my neourologist before my upcoming ampointment. At 5:00 I had taken in the laundry, before sitting down to eat dinner, with my parents. Once I had finished eating, I then took an air flo reading. 470, 490,480. Once I had done so I then sat down to blog.

Dan updated me om my progress in p.t. from the the day I began my theropy at WestSide until now.

I began my Thursday morning at 5:30 a.m. by getting up to do my stretching exercises. I then went to the kitchen at 6:30 to eat my breakfast. Once I had done so, I then went to my bedroom to brush my teeth. I then made my way downstairs to ride the swin air dine for thirty minutes. At 7:05 I then made my way back up to my bedroom to do my weight exercises, both arm and leg. At 7:30 I then proceeded to get ready for my day. At 8:00 I then grabbed my lunch and my nap sack to bring to the door. I then went to get the laundry to hang on the clothing line. Once I had done so, I then emptied the dishwasher, thus putting the dish's away. My ride ended up being late so I missed my first theropy, but I was on time for P.T. at 11:00. During my P.T. session with Dan today he first had me walking down on the bottum level of WestSide. Dan took my blood pressure 112 over 70. I was able to walk one-half mile today, 16.5 laps, in 12 minutes and 9 seconds. Dan then had me standing in the parallel bars with my right foot in front of my left. I was able to stay balanced for ten seconds. With my left foot in front of my right I was able to stay balance. Dan then updated me on my progress. Back in August of last year when I first began my theropy at WestSide the only walking I was doing was side stepping with Amanda. Almost a year later I walked one-half mile around the lower level of WestSide. I would say that was some huge improvement. At 12:00 United then brought me home. I arrived home at 1:00 p.m. Upon doing I took in the sheets and pillow cases on the clothing line. Thus folding them and putting them away. I then took in the rest of the laundry. At 1:45 I then sat down to eat my lunch. At 2:00 I then washed some dish's thus putting them away. Once I had brushed my teeth I then hung another load of laundry to dry before laying down to rest. I slept from 2:35 until 4:00 before getting up. I then ate my dinner with my mother. Once I had done so I then took my shower at 5:00. I then took an air flo reading 470, 420, 400. I then sat down to blog.

I am a roll model

I began my Wednesday morning at 5:00 a.m. by stretching my muscles. I then proceeded my workout at 5:30 with my weight exercises both leg and arm. At 6:15 I then went to the kitchen to eat my breakfast. I then returned to my bedroom to brush my teeth before going downstairs to ride the swin air dine for thirty minutes. Once doing so, I went back to my bedroom to take a shower and get ready for my day ahead. Once I had cleaned my bathroom, I then took an air flo reading. 450, 470, 440. I then gathered my things and went to the door to wait for United Wheel Chair to show up to take me to WestSide. Upon my arrivel for a 10:45 appointment to meet with Piper my case manager. At 11:00 I then went to the gym for my P.T. session with Dan. Today Dan first had me walking on the tred mill. I first walked 2.4 miles in three minutes and three seconds. Dan then increesed the speed at 2.6 and I continued to walk for ten minutes total. my blood pressure at the beginning of the workout was the same as it was when it ended. 110 over 70. Dan then strapped the gate belt around my waist and we took off walking. I walked 12 times around the lower level at WestSide. 1920 feet. We then went back into the gym to do balance exercises in the parallel bars. At 12:00 I then went into the kitchen to eat my lunch, with Kay, her aid Theresa and another client Paul. At 1:00 I then went up to the conference room for support group. Tod, Denise, Tina, Dee Dee and I Talked about week 22's topic "Setting Limits." While during our discussion one the clients mention, I want to be lide Troy. To recover as well as I have. It is funny how other clients who are stroke survivors at WestSide look up to me and use me as a roll model. Myself, I have to look higher to people who haven't had a stroke and ask myself, "Why did this even have to happen at all?" We then discussed why establishing limits is important and making others aware. At 2:00 I then left to go home. I arrived home at 3:15. Once inside I had talked to a friend on the telephone before taking a shower. I then sat down to eat dinner at 5:00. I called my friend Stacie to chat before typing my blog. I then took another air flo reading 450, 470, 600. I then called it a day.

Looking up information on the New England Blind and Visually Impaired Festival with Jennifer

I began my Tuesday morning at 5:00 a.m. by doing my stretching. Once I done so, I then did my weight work out both leg and arm. At 5:45 I then shaved before going out to the kitchen to eat my breakfast. Once I had finished eating, I then made my way downstairs to ride the swin air dine for thirty minutes. Once I had taken my shower, I then took an air flo reading; 500, 400, 450. United eventually showed up and took me to WestSide for my daily theropy. Upon my arrivel for 9:00 a.m. I had Yoga Group with Michelle. During group Mat, David, Donald, and I went over worksheets in group of yoga exercises with Michelle and Carol so that we could do them at home. We then practice some Yoga. At 10:00 I then had Finding Meaning Group. Seams that I was the only client to show up for group today: Jennifer went on line with me to look up New England Blind and Visually Impaired Ske Festival up at Sugarloaf. We talked about other things. At 11:00 during my break I sat downstairs in the kitchen. At 11:30 during my nursing session with Sally, she first took my blood pressure 112 over 66. We then talked addressing other medical issues. At 12:00 I then went to the kitchen to eat my lunch before going home. Once I had arrived home at 1:30 I rested for thirty minutes before riding the swin air dine for thirty minutes. At 2:20 I then turned to my weight exercises. I then went to the kitchen to wash my lunch dish's before taking a shower. I then sat down to blog a little early today because we are suppose to get thunder showers this evening.

I only stretched once today, OH MY!!!!

I began my Monday morning at 8:00 a.m. by getting and going out into the kitchen to drink my hot cocoa while eating blueberry muffins and fruit for for breakfast. Once I had finished eating, I then went back into my bedroom to brush my teeth before beginning my morning workout. Once I had finished stretching, I then went downstairs to ride the swin air dine for thirty minutes. At 9:45 I then brought the laundry upstairs to be hung out on the clothing line. Climbing stairs is still a challange for me, So I just take it one step at a time. Especially with a laundry basquet in my hands filled with clothing. I was off the hook today for the hanging of the laundry seems my mother is home. At 9:50 I then went into my bedroom to do my weight exercises, both arm and leg. At 10:10 I then took my shower thus cleaning my bathroom. Once I had done so, I began to work on writing out my poetry in a notebook. At 12:30 I took in some laundry that had been dry. At 1:00 I had lied down to rest. I was so tired from my workout this morning, I had slept from 1:00 until 4:00. Once I was up, I had played words with friends on my Ipad for a bit before taking my shower at 5:00. Once I had done so, I went to eat dinner with my mother, before doing my blog.

The heat is a killer

I began my Sunday morning at 7:00 a.m. by none other then doing my daily stretching. Once I had done so I then began to do my leg exercises, with my ankle weights. At 8:30 I then made my way to the kitchen to eat breakfast. My mother had made some muffins with home fries. At 9:10 I then went back to my bedroom to do my arm exercises, with weights. At 9:15 I then brushed my teeth, thus getting ready to go to church with my mother. After mass, my mother and I went to visit my grandmother. At 11:30 we then went to Hanaford to grocery shop. On our way home I stopped to get an icey drink to try to help me cool down. We arrived home at 12:30. After changing out of my dress clothing, I then ate some lunch. Once I had brushed my teeth, I then lied down to rest and I slept from 1:00 until 3:50. This heat is a killer. Once I was up, I had a popcicle. I then went back to my bedroom to keep cool in the A.C. The bad air quality really effects my breathing. At 5:00 I then watched a movie before eating dinner at 6:00 with my parents. We kept it cool and had potato salad, zuccini. tomato's. I then went to my bedroom to blog before taking it easy for the night.

Time to share

I began my Saturday morning at 8:30 a.m. by stretching, so as to loosen up my muscles. I then proceeded with my workout by doing my arm weight exercises. I then went to the washroom to bring the laundry out to be hung on the clothing line. At 9:45 I then sat down to eat some fruit, while toast was being baked. Once it was finished, I then dunked it in my hot cocoa. Once I had finished eating I then brushed my teeth before riding the swin air dine for thirty minutes. At 10:50 I then brought another load of laundry out to be hung. At 11:00 I then focussed on my leg exercises with my ankle weights. At 11:30 I then did some writing, of which I tend to do from time to time, other then my blog. I then shared it with my parents. I then went to get the mail and paper. At 1:25 I then had a popcicle before taking in the laundry. At 2:00 I lied down to rest. I slept until 4:00. I then went to the kitchen to have a snack before taking a shower. At 5:00 I then ate dinner with my parents. At 5:30 I sat down to blog.

Taking my grandmother and sister out to lunch

I began my Friday mornnig at 8;00 by riding for thirty minutes. I then made my way back upstairs to eat my breakfast with my sister Barbara who is up from Scarborough while on vacation. At 9:00 I then went back to my bedroom to brush my teeth and shave before doing my stretching exercises. I did so until 10:00 before getting the laundry to hang out on the clothing line to dry. Once I had done so, I then took my shower. At 11:00 my sister and I left to pick up my grandmother to go out to lunch at the Harvest House. While there we saw our cousin Stacy and her parents Carol and Jimmy. At 12:40 we left to go back home. Once dropping my grandmother off we arrived home at 1:00. Once inside, I layed down to rest and I slept from 1:00 until 4:00. The heat really drains all the energy I have right out of me. Once I was up I began to do my stretching exercises. I did so until 5:15 before putting my laundry away. I then went into the kitchen to eat dinner with my sister and mother. Once I had fished eating I then sat down to blog before showing my mother and sister my pictures from my trip to Tennessee. Thanks again Scott.

Cylcling with M.H.S. around the Back Bay.

I began my Thursday morning at 4:30 a.m. by doing my stretching exercises. Once I had done so, I then strapped on my ankle weights and proceded to do my leg exercises. At 5:30 I then made my way to the kitchen to eat my breakfast. Once I had done so, I then got ready for my day ahead. I then put on sun screen so as not to burn today while bicycling around the Back Bay. I then gathered my lunch and my bag with things in it for the day and went by the door to wait for United to arrive. United arrived at 6:45 to transport me to WestSide. Upon doing so, Arnie, Eric, Dennis, and I, left with Tobie and Carol to go to portland for our day of cycling on tandem bicycles. Upon our arrivel to the area in which we had meet others, I had seen Dian the cooridinator of the ski Maine Handicapped race team and this event. First time since my stroke. She hugged me saying Troy so nice to see you. Then another coach on the race team Migheal snuck up behind me and gave me ahug too. it was like a reunion. At 11:00 Our group took of for our ride once we were on our tandem cicyles. We enjoied a nice casual ride around the bay. We had returned back to the starting point at 12:00 noon. We ate lunch before leaving to go back to WestSide at 1:00.We returned to WestSide at 2:00 and from there United took me home. I arrived home at 3:15. I emmediatly went to my bedroom to begin begin doing my stretching exercises. I then went to the kitchen to talk to my parents and my sister. I then took a ride to hanaford with my father. Once returning home at 5:00, I sat out on the deck with my parents and sister to talk. At 5:30 I then took a shower before sitting down to eat dinner with my family. I then went into my bedroom to blog.

What an emplyer should know about you before hand

I began my Wednesday morning at 7:00 a.m. by going out into the kitchen to eat a bowl of oatmeal, toast, and bananna for breakfast. Once I had finished eating, I then went into my bedroom to brush my teeth and begin to do my stretching. At 8:00 I then went downstairs to ride the swin air dine for thirty minutes. While I was downstairs I started a load of laundry before going to my bedroom to take my shower. Once I had done so, I then went into the kitchen to wash what dish's that were in the sink. At 9:00 I then hung the laundry to dry out on the clothing line and rack out on the deck. I then soon left to go to WestSide at 9:30. Upon my arrivel for my 11:00 a.m. P.T. appointment with Tracie. Once in the gym Tracie first had me walking on the tredmill. I first walked 10.12 minutes going 0.45 miles. After a short brake and a glass of I then continued to walk. I then made it to 20.27 at 0.890 miles. At 11:30 Tracie then had me laying on the matt doing leg raises with weights. At 12:00 I then went to the dining area to eat lunch. I sat with Paul, Tina, and mat while eating. At 1:00 I then made my way to the conference room to for support group. Tod, Tina, Denise, Dee Dee, and I talked about the nick names we had given ourselves about a month ago during group. Tina "cheer leader" Tod "Mr Positive" Denise "The Climber" Dee Dee "The Warrior" and Troy "The Roll Model." We then disussed todays topic for week 21, Disability in the work place. I talked about my experience working at Hanaford. We also discussed how it to be beneficial to let your employer know before hand about strengths and deficits. How it would be beneficial to you and your employer before hand. At 2:00 Larry from United took me home. I arrived home at 3:00, thus doing my weight exercises both leg and arm until 3:45. I then packed some things for cycling tomorrow with the Maine Handicapped Adaptive summer program. I then sat down to do my blog before dinner.

Enough is enough, I am tired

I began my Tuesday morning at 5;00 a..m. by doing my daily stretching routine. I then proceded to to my weight exercises, both arm and leg. At 6:00 I then went to the kitchen to eat my breakfast. At 6:20 I then brushed my teeth and shaved before proceding to take my shower. getting in out of the shower now isn't problem now that my leg is stronger. But I am not there yet to be able to do the things I really want to do. I remember when I needed help taking a shower let along get in and out of one. At 7:00 I then took an air flo reading. 500, 470, 490. I then continued to get ready by bringing my things to the door. United Wheel Chair showed up and I was on my way. Upon my arrivel to WestSide for 9:00 a.m. I had Yoga group with Michelle. Some of the thins Matt, Donald, David, and I did were breathing exercises, reciting oam, roll neck, corps pose. At 10:00 during finding meaning group Doug and I talked about the meaning of happiness with Jennifer. At 11:00 I then went to the kitchen to eat my lunch. At 11:30 I made my way to the nurses office for my nursing session with Christine who was filling in for sally today. Christine first took my blood pressure which was 130 over 89 we then talked about my medications and any upcoming doctors appointments I then told Christine a little about my trip to Tennessee. I then left to go home. I arrived home at 1:50. Upon doing so, I got on the swin air dine for thirty minutes. I then took in the laundty from the clothing line. At 2:40 I then went to my bedroom to stretch. for thirty minutes. I then continued by doing my weight exercises with my legs. At 3:35 I then lied down to rest. I had slept for thirty minutes (power nap0 before getting up to eat dinner. I then went to my bedroom to blog.

Jumping on the trampoline during P.T. with Tracie

I began my Monday morning at 6:30 a.m. by stretching and doing my leg exercises with my ankle weights. At 7:30 I then made my to the kitchen to eat my breakfast. I had muffins, fruit, o.j., and hot chocolate. Once I  had finished eating, I then went to my bedroom to brush my teeth. At 7:50 I then did my arm exercises with weights. At 8:00 I then took a shower, thus getting ready for my day ahead. Once I had done so, I grabbed my lunch and put my things by the door. I then took an air flo reading 460, 460, 510. I then sat to wait for my ride. Upon my arrivel to WestSide Neourorehab for 11:00 a.m. I had my P.T. session with Tracie. She first had me walking on the tredmill. At 11:26 I had walked .515 miles. I then took a short break before starting to walk again. This time I continued on to 22.19 and distance 1.012. Tracie then had me on a trampoline. She first had me marching in place. I then pointed my toes up and heels up. At 12:00 I then had a support session with Jen, who was filling in for Deb. I showed my pictures of my trip to Tennessee on the disc Scott had made for me. At 12:30 I then went to the kitchen to eat my lunch. After doing so, I then had my case management session with Piper. We talked about running races in the past, and how I am working hard to get back to that point again some day. Beach to Becon, and Tripple crown to name a few. Al from United WheelChair then took me home. I arrived home at 2:30. Upon doing so, I had taken in the laundry from the clothing line. At 2:50 I then washed my lunch dish's. At 3:05 I then went to bedroom to stretch. At 3:15 I then went downstairs to ride the swin air dine for thirty minutes. I then went back to my bedroom to do my leg weights and arm weights. At 4:05 I then went to the kitchen to make my lunch for tomorrow. At 4:15 I then took my shower before sitting down to blog. I then went to the kitchen to eat dinner before calling it a day.

Spending the weekend at camp

Saturday 7/712

I began my Saturday morning at 8:30 a.m. stretching, while my mother made cinnamon muffins for breakfast along with fruit on the side. Bannana's, strawberry's, cherry's ect. At 9:00 I then made my way to the kitchen to eat. Once I had finished eating, I brushed my teeth, before making my way out to my bunk house that I usually sleep in but have not in the past two summers for ovious reasons. Once I was out there I stripped my bed to wash my bed sread and everything under it right down to the mattress pad. I then strarted to wipe down walls to get rid of the cob webs.I then wipe down the furniture that is in the bunk house. Once doing so I then swept up the floor. This is just a once over I will be back, it needs it. I then folded some t-shirts I had brought from home to wear while I am at camp and stuck them in the drawers. At 11:00 I went back into the camp to take a shower and to get ready for the day ahead, It sure is amazing the things I can do today, that I could not do a year ago. At 11:30 I then layed down to rest. I had slept until 2:30 before getting up to eat lunch. At 3:00 I played four games of cribbage with my mother until 5:00 p.m. I then relaxed before eating dinner. I then went to bed at 8:00.

Sunday 7/8/12

I began my Sunday morning at 7:00 a.m. by leaving camp with my mother to go home and get ready to go to church. We arrived home at 7:30. After unpacking the car, I then went to my bedroom to begin doing my stretching. At 8:30 I then went to the kitchen to eat cereal and english muffin for breakfast. At 9:30 I then went to my bedroom to take my shower and get ready to go to church. At 10:00 my mother and I left to go pick up my grandmother at the Pierce House before making our way to church. After church we dropped my grandmother off at the Pierce House. We then made a stop at Tranten's to pick up some grocery's. We arrived home at 12:00 noon. My mother had made me a bean sandwhich for lunch. Once I had finished eating, I then lied down to rest at 12:30 and I slept until 3:20. Once I was up I then went downstairs to ride the swin air dine for thirty minutes. I then made my way back up to my bedroom to do my stretching, and weight routine. At 4:45 I then took a shower before my laundry away.At 5:15 I then went to the kitchen to eat dinner. At 5:45 I then went back to my bedroom to do my blog about my weekend.

going to camp for the weekend

I began my Friday morning at 8:45 a.m. by going out into the kitchen to eat a bowl of cereal and toasted english muffin. Once I had finished my breakfast, I then took the sheets off my bed, thus bringing them to the washroom to start a wash. while I was downstairs I rode the swin air dine  for thirty minutes. At 9:50 I then went to my bedroom where the air conditioning was keeping it cool. I then proceded with my workout with my leg exercises. At 10:00 I then hung the laundry out to dry. At 10:15 my mother had called wondering if I would like to go to camp for the weekend. Why not, I would love to I replied. I then continued to hang the laundry. At 10:30 I then made my bed with clean sheets. Once I had shave I then proceded to dust and vaccuume my bedroom. At 11:30 I then did my stretching. Once I had finished with my workout, I then went to the kitchen to eat my lunch and warch the news. At 12:30 I then took my shower thus cleaning my bathroom afterwards. At 1:00 I then took in the laundry and put it away. I then sat down to blog before leaving for camp for the weekend.

A Wish For The Future

I began my Thursday morning at 8;00 a.m. by eat my cereal, english muffin with peanutbutter and honey on it for breakfast. At 8:15 I then began a load of laundry. Once I had brushed my teeth, I then road the swin air dine for thirty minutes. After doing so I went to get the laundry at 9:00 to hang out on the clothing line to dry. At 9:25 I then went back inside to start the dishwasher. Once I had the dishwasher going, I then went to my bedroom to do my leg exercises with weights. It is amazing how after all the exercising I have done in the past year, my foot is still week, thus holding me back from doing the things I am hoping to be able to do again someday. RUN RUN RUN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! At 10:10 I then took my shower. Once I had done so, I then started another load of laundry at 10:40. Once I had the laundry hung, I then went back to my bedroom to fill my daily pill containers for the week. At 11:10 I then hung the other load of laundry to dry. At 11:50 I then emptied the dishwasher thus putting the clean dish's away. At 12:20 I then made myself a sandwhich to eat for lunch. While eating lunch I watched the news. We have some hot weather coming, of which I am not to fond of. After brushing my teeth, I then took in the load of laundry I had hung out earlier this morning. I then went in to wipe the dish's I had washed and put them away. At 1:00 I lied down to rest. I had slept until 2:45 thus awoken by a phone call. At 3:15 I then put clothing I had put on the rack on the clothing line to continue drying. My mother had arrived home at 3:45 from work thus bringing me a smoothy to drink. Ahhhhhh nice and coooool. At 4:30 I then helped my mother make a batch of cookies. At 5:10 I then took in the clothing from the clothing line, thus putting it away. I then took a shower before sitting down to eat dinner. Once I had finnished eating, I went to my room at 7:00 to do my blog.

Happy 4th of July

I began my Wednesday morning on this 4th of July at 9:30 a.m. by doing my stretching exercises. At 10:00 I then went to the kitchen to eat eat some cearal and english muffin for breakfast. Once I had finished eating, I then brushed my perly whites before riding the swin air dine for thirty minutes. I then went to get the mail and the newspaper. Once I was back inside I then went to my bedroom to do my leg exercises with some weight on each leg. At 11:20 my parents arrived home from Portland. At 11:45 I then put my laundry away. At 12:00 I said good-bye to my sister. I then sat down to have lunch. Once I had finished eating, I brushed my teeth, then lied down to rest. I slept from 12:30 until 3:00. My father then took me to give me a haircut. I arrived back home at 3:40, going straight to my bedroom to do my leg exercises and some stretching. I then took a shower, before going into the kitchen to talk to my mother. At 5:00 I then sat down to eat dinner. I then went to my bedroom to  blog. I then called it a day.

Outing at Rang Pond State Park with WestSide and BaySide clients along with the Deaf services

I begam Tuesday morning at 6:00 a.m. by getting up to stretch and do my weight exercises. Once I had done so, I then took my shower, thus getting ready for my day ahead. Once I had brushed my teeth an cleaned my bathroom, I then went to the washroom to start a load of laundry. United Wheel Chair had arrived at at 8:30. We then went to pick up Donald before arriving at Rang Pond at 9:50 a.m. I immediatly changed into my bathing suit. Once I had done so I then went swimming with Tobie Amanda, and Michelle. At 1030 I then got out of the water. Once I was dry I then sat down at 10:30 to play cards with Doug, Greg, and Josh. We all then gathered in a circle clients from WestSide and BaySide to toss a ball around with questions on. Once you recieived the ball you had to answere a question about yourself on the ball. It was a way to get to know a little bit about everyone. Once we had finished the opening activity we then had lunch at noon. Hamburgers and hotdogs were on the menue. I had a hamburger, pasta salad, and bbq chips. Once I  had finished eating, I then played cribbage with another client from WestSide named Greg. At 2:45 we Donald and my ride had arrived. I arrived home at 4:35 from Rang Pond. Once inside I took a shower cleaning off all that sun screan. At 5:00 I  then spoke to my mother on the telephone before sitting down to eat dinner with my sister. I then went to my bedroom to blog before calling it a day.

Spending time with my sister Barbara

I began my Monday morning at 6:30 a.m. by doing my stretching exercises. At 7:00 I then made my way to the kitchen to eat some hot cereal along with some toast and hot cocoa. At 7:30 I then went back to my bathroom to get ready for the day. Once I had showered and shaved, ect. I then cleaned my bathroom. At 9:00 I then grabbed my lunch and my things and left to go to WestSide on United at 9:00. Upon my arrivel I had P.T. at 11:00 with Dan. My blood pressure to start the session was 104 over 70. Dan then had me on the exercise bike for eight minutes then took it again, This time it was 112 over 80. Dan then had me walking a bit before the session ended. At 12:00 during my support session with Deb, we went on line to look up information. At 12:30 I went to the dining area to eat my lunch. At 1:00 I then had my fifteen case management session with Piper. We talked about my trip to Tennessee. John from United then took me home. I arrved home at 2:45. I then got on the swin air dine for thirty minutes. After taking my shower I then played yahtzee with my sister who is up from Scarborough to stay while she has some time off. At 4:30 she and I then had dinner. At 5:00 we then played words with friends while relaxing in bed. At 6:30 I then got up to blog before calling it a day.

Packing a beach bag to go to Rang Pond Tuesday

I began my Sunday morning at 8:00 a.m. by doing my stretching. After shaving, I then did my leg exercises with weight. At 8:45 I then went to the kitchen to eat dropped eggs on toast for breakfast, which my mother had prepared. Once I had finished eating, I then went to my bedroom to take an air flo reading. 650, 450, 450. Once I had brushed my teeth, I then took my shower, thus getting ready to go to church. At 9:30 I then order my medication. At 10:00 My mother and I left for the Pierce house to pick up my grandmother to take her to church with us. Once my grandmother was in the car we made our way to church. Once we arrived we made our way to the front, to sit. After church we then dropped my grandmother off before going to Hanaford to pick up my medication. We arrived home at 12:00. I then ate lunch before packing a beach bag to go to rang pond Tuesday with WestSide. At 1:00 I then lied down to rest. I had slept until 3:45 before getting up. I then went downstairs to ride the swin air dine. At 5:00 I then took my shower before eating dinner. Once I had finished eating, I then went to my bedroom to blog. It feels good now that I am all caught up.
