Talking about my comfort level during group settings with Michelle
My Wednesday morning began on this day at 5:30 a.m. by getting up to stretch. After doing so, I had then first preceded with my upper then lower weight exercises. Once I had completed my workout, I had then shaved and had taken my shower before making my way into the kitchen to drink my hot cocoa and to eat my fruit. I then had an egg sandwich. Once I had finished eating, I then preceded to go to my bathroom to brush my teeth. United wheelchair had soon arrived to bring me to WestSide. Upon my arrival for 10:00 a.m. I had met Sandra in the gym fro my P.T. session. I had first walked 1.5 miles on the treadmill. I then did some balance activities. At 11:00, I had made my way to the conference room for brain injury education group. Today we first reviewed how the presentation went in Farmington at Franklin Memorial Hospital with the scrub club. We then preceded to work on the description of the mirror and glasses activity. We then continued to put tape on glasses so as to make them resemble different types of vision. We then worked on the description for the motor coordination activity. We then had Jess try the mirror activity who was filling in for Deb. I have ben having a hard time participating in group therapy, do to randem conversation taking place. Working one on one with a therapist has not been a problem. At 12:00 I had eaten my lunch before taking a shower. I then had made my way to the conference room for support group. Our quote being discussed today was "I now see how owning our own story and loving ourselves through that process is the bravest thing that we will ever do." We each then had to explain what this quote ment to us. At 2:00 I then had my speech session. Today Susan hooked me up to the vital stim, a form of neuromuscular electrical stimulation, for 25 minutes. Working on strengthening different muscles in my throat area. At 3:00 I then had a support session with Michelle who was filling in for Deb. I had spoken to Michelle today about my comfort level during group therapy. She had mentioned that I could get up and walk out of any group I like to if at that time I was feeling uncomfortable in anyway. At 3:30 Larry had then taking me home. I had arrived home at 4:44. Once inside, I had put on something comfortable before sitting down to blog.
