Walking at Bates Track
My Wednesday morning began at 5:00 a.m. by making my bed. After doing so, I then began to the stretches that have helped me during my latest stroke recovery. At 5:20 I then focused on my back stretches. At 5:30 I then cycled for twenty minutes before returning to my bedroom so as to shave and take my shower, thus getting ready for the day ahead. At 6:10 I then went back into the kitchen so as to eat some fruit with yogurt. After a banana sandwich with peanutbutter. At 6:30 I then returned to my bedroom so as to brush my teeth. I then put in my eye and nose drops. At 6:44 I had taken the first puff of my inhaler. Once I had taken the second puff, I then grabbed my things and met United Wheelchair in my driveway. Upon my arrival to WestSide for 9:00 I gone to Nancy’s office for visually Impaired Group. We shared things about our week, in the world of a person with a visual impairment while living with a brain injury. At 10:00 during my rehab session with Jamie, she and I went to bates track to do some walking. While walking we talked about using my new phone. When we returned to WestSide I had taken some notes down to put in the document on google docs that I had created. Tomorrow she will show me how to put some contact numbers into my phone. At 11:00 I had gone to Priyadarshi’s office. Today we had first did a brief meditation before created a mask. This other client and I had missed out on the special event so we will be doing it in mindfulness group. Priyadarshi then read off some feelings and we had write them down which ones we felt after having our brain injury. He then told us to gather some things over the week tha remind you of those feelings. Some of the words I chose were, afraid, angry, capable, challenged, cheated, confused, Curious, determined, dynamic, eager, energetic, enthusiastic, exhilarated, focused, frustrated, hurt, isolated, lonely, love, optimistic, ready, strong, and tired. I then was told to gather things at home to put on the mask. At 12:00 I then had a fifteen minute case management session with Steven. He had given me a form to fill out. I then went into the lobby to meet the driver who would be taking me home. I had arrived home at 1:35. Once I was comfortable, I then had eaten a salad for lunch. At 2:00 I then returned to my bedroom so as to brush my teeth and layed down to rest. I had slept form 2:00-5:00. I then had taken a shower before eating dinner. At 5:30 I then returned to my bedroom so as to type in todays blog entry.
