Once I had stretched my muscles from 6:00-7:00 like I normally do I then I filled out my daily menue before making my way to the gym, mind you is conveniently located right next to my room. Audry first had me doing core and strengthening exercizes on the mat. One of the things I had to do today was to stand up starting from a sit down position on the mat without any help from my arms. I then walked in the hall using my cane not the walker with Audrey telling me at random look right, look left, look up, look down while I was focuss on my walking. During my speech session with charity, she had me solving a deduction puzzle. I have always found these to be ever so challenging. At 9:55 I had a quick snack before going back to the gym for my O.T. session with Jason he tested me for my grip strength. I improved going up in numbers in 3 out of the five tested. Jason then had me tightening nuts on bolts working on strengthening my fingers. At 11:30 I went outside to the patio to the B B Q lunchen that was going on today. They were serving a hotdog, coleslaw, chips , and lemon aid. At 12:00 I had meet Dan back in my room before going out to the patio to play cribbage, with him. Before going into rest, I had spoken briefly to Paul Carigan who had stopped by to see me. Once I had awoken from my rest I then stretched once again. I am going to beat this stroke one way or another. DETERMINATION! Once I had spoken briefly on the Phone to a friend, I then stretched once again at 3;15. At 3:50 my sister called to let me know she would be coming down to vist tomorrow. Once I had spoken briefly with ny grandmother, I then ate dinner before receiving my weekly telephone call from my friend Stacie. Once I had stretched one last time, I then ate my dinner soon calling it a day.
Busy day! Yep, "determination" is written all over your blog, Troy! A co-worker, in perfect health, 54 years old, had a stroke last week. She won't be back to work for a very long time. She's at CMMC and will have to have surgery at some point (sound familiar?).
ReplyDeleteThought of you last night...was whining 'cause I had a sore toe. Then, as I was going upstairs to bed, it dawned on me: "big deal! It's not like I can't walk." I wonder how many others take a simple thing like walking for granted? Shame on us!
Keep treking!
