Cafe made kabobs for lunch, yum!!!
I began my Friday morning at 5:30 a.m. by getting up to stretch. I then preceded to do my upper weight exercises. So as not to tire myself out to much, I had dismissed my leg exercises from my routine this morning. So as to save a few steps I had showered and got myself ready before going out into the kitchen. I still get discouraged every now and then of the outcome of my recovery thus far, although other stroke patients at WestSide look at me and admire the progress I have made. It was not handed to me on a silver platter that is for sure. I have worked very hard. Things that still give me trouble is my breathing and my right ankle. Although it is hard to explain how. Once out in the kitchen I had my cocoa and some fuit. I then had a bowl of hot cereal with english muffin. I then brushed my teeth before waiting for my ride to arrive. Dan from United Wheel chair picked me and Don up to go to therapy at 7:30. Funny thing, I had met Dan ten years ago while he was driving for a tour company while I was on a trip. I had arrived at WestSide for 9:00 a.m. I had sat in the lobby for thirty minutes to wait to go the mall with walking group. Michelle and Casey then took a group of us over. The majority vote was to still walk in the mall but the days are getting closer to when we will be walking outside. I can't wait. After about eight laps around the mall we called it quits. for some reason today my breathing was acting up. Having a hard time doing so. Ever since my stroke. It will act up any time. At 11:00 I was back at WestSide. I then went to the conference room for stretching group with Michelle and courtney. We each took turns naming a type of stretch as we went around the room. At 12:00 I then went to the kitchen for cafe. Today the members of cafe group made Hawaiian chicken kabobs, potato salad, and angle food cake with strawberries and whip cream for lunch. Once I had finished eating United then took me home. I had arrived home at 1:30 thus going straight to bed. I had slept until 4:00 before getting to take a shower. I then had a spaghetti feast with my parents, sister and her friend Dan. I then sat down to blog before calling it a day.
