One arm activity in B.I.E group
I began my Wednesday morning at 5:00 a.m. by getting out of bed to stretch. After doing so, I then preceded to do my upper weight exercises. I then shaved before strapping on the ankle weights. At 6:00 I then took a shower once I had completed my leg exercises. At 6:30 I then went out into the kitchen to eat my breakfast. Once I had scoffed down a bowl of cereal and a toasted piece of banana bread I returned to my bedroom to brush my teeth before sitting down to wait for my ride. United had arrived in my door yard at 8:00 a.m. I had arrived at West Side at 9:20. Once I had put my lunch in my locker, I then met with Laurie in her office for a rehab session. I came up with pictures to help represent writing abilities to put on my I Pad. At 10:00 I then met Matt in the gym for my P.T. session. He first had me walking on the treadmill for fifteen minutes working on my balance. We then went out in the hallway. He had set up some cones. I then side stepped over the cones. He then set up some cups and I did the same thing tapping the cups as I stepped over them. Matt then had me standing on the erix cuission in the parallel bars as we tossed a six pound therapy ball back and forth. At 11:00 I then went to the conference room for Brain Injury Education Group. Today we talked about how I had located the group posters with Deb. We then spoke about introduction to our presentations. We then talked about the shirt one handed activity. This is where we have students try putting on a shirt with the use of only one arm. This helps then understand what allot of stroke patients go through, I have been lucky in that aspect still having the use of both arms after my stroke. We then spoke about the glasses we hand out for students to try, so that they get an idea what people with visual difficulty go through following a stroke, like myself. At 12:00 I then went to the dining area to eat my lunch. After taking a shower, I then went to the conference room for support group. Denise and I filled out the Thanksgiving alphabet game with Deb before talking about Thanksgiving plans. We then played kings cribbage. At 2:00 do to a snowstorm that had arrived earlier then it was predicted West Side closed early sending there clients home do to the road conditions. We had left at 2:00 and I had arrived home at 3:40. A ride that should only have taken an hour. I then went inside and got comfortable before sitting down to blog. I then called it a day.
