Back on the track towards recovery
Thursday April 11, 2013
I began my Thursday morning at 8:30 a.m. with what I thought to be a massive Dizzy spell. I became really dizzy and my vision became blurred. It had lasted for about five minutes. I never gave it a thought that it might have been a seizure. Once it had passed, I had begun to do my hand exercises. At 9:30 My mother had arrived home to take me to Franklin Memorial Hospital to have a C.A.T. scan. After the scan, had been brought out to the car by wheelchair. At 10:15 My mother then brought me to my grandmother to have lunch. Once my mother had dropped me off, I then went to my grandmothers room in the Pierce House. My grandmother first called some friends of hers from where she use to live, in the town of Rumford, Maine. I had spoke to Ernie briefly. My grandmother and I then played two games of cribbage. We each won a game. At 12:00 we then went to the dinning area to eat some lunch. On the menu today was pork, potato salad and mixed vegetables. Once we had finished eating, we had returned to my grandmothers room to rest. I had slept from 12:45-3:00. My mother then had arrived to pick me up to go home. We had arrived home at 3:30. I then had put my lounging clothing on. After doing so, a friend had called. We had talked for fifteen minutes. In the mean time my mother was speaking to my neurologist in Bangor. My parents then brought be to Eastern Maine Medical Center in Bangor. After the seizure activity I had been having, My doctor wanted me to be checked out. It had been quite late when my father and I had arrived at the hospital, and the number of people waiting to be admitted was incredible. I was so tired they had brought me a bed to lay on out in the waiting area. While out there they started running tests on me and drawing blood every time I turned around. While doing so I had a grand moll seizure. My father had looked at the medical personal taking care of me at the time and said, "your going to lose him." I could feel my head falling backward, "OH SHIT!" she replied, I was then out. I was then soon brought to a room. I still to this day do not recall a thing. I just remember what I have been told.
