Happy Saint Patricks Day
My Tuesday morning began at 4:00 a.m. by waking to the sound of the fire alarm going off. Instant heat attack. I immediately grabbed my noise reducing headphones and put them on. I then buried my head under my pillow. It lasted for what felt like five hours when in reality went on fo five minutes. I found out later on today that it had something to do with the furnace here. As the lights were flashing and the sirens blaring, I experienced what felt like an aura. Sour taste in my mouth and sick feeling in my stomach. I then new at that point that I was I having a little seizure triggered by the trauma my body was experiencing at that time and moment. Once all was said and done, I lay there in bed until 6:30 a.m. trying to go back to sleep. "NO LUCK!" I then put my feet on the floor and made myself a cup of hot cocoa to go with some fruit. Once I had finished, I then fixed myself a bowl fo cereal with a toasted english muffin. At 7:00 I then brushed my teeth and shaved before washing my dishes. At 7:20 I had put in my eye and nose drops before using my inhaler. AT 7:25 I had gone back to bed and slept until 9:45. I then called my mother and spoke to her my experience this morning. I then asked her the name of the new medication my neurologist put me on, so as to call the pharmacy to see if it is ready for pick up. Clobazam is now added to my medication list to help prevent me from having seizures. The bran name is Onfi. At 10:00 I then called the pharmacy to see if it is ready. They let me know that it will not be in until tomorrow. Once I had made my bed, at 10:10 I had began to do the stretches that I have been doing each morning since having my last stroke. At 10:20 I began to do my back stretches. At 10:30 I had taken a shower. At 10:50 I received a knock on my door. It was Shawn one of the nurses checking in on me to see if I was doing o.k. After this mornings fire alarm went off. I had let him know what went on before giving him the letter from Doctor Selviteli my neurologist letting them know how the flashing lights could trigger me to have a seizure. Shawn then went to make a copy of the letter before returning it to me. At 11:30 I then started a load of laundry on my way to the village green to eat a Saint Patrick's Day meal. While I was waiting in the village green, Marilyn came up to me and let me know not to make my bed tomorrow. She would be changing it. At 12:15 I began my meal with a piece of Irish soda bread. I then had a meal of corn beaf with potato wedges, peas and onions, cabbage, and beats. Once I had finished eating, I then was served a piece of Irish pie for dessert. At 1:00 on my way back to my apartment, I had put my wash in the dryer. At 1:08 I then called my parents to let them know of the meal that I had. I then lied down to rest and slept from 1:45-4:40. I then went to get my laundry. Once I was back in my apartment, I then folded it and put it away. At 5:00 I then took a shower before pulling up my blog and typing of my day.
