Taking a walk on the River Walk

My Friday morning began on this day at 8:00 a.m. by going out into the kitchen at 8:00 a.m. to drink my hot cocoa and eat some fruit with fruit dip. Strawberries, grapes, and cantolope. After doing so, I had fixed myself a bowl of cereal and a toasted english muffin. Once I had finished eating, I then preceded to go back to my bedroom at 8:15 to brush my teeth. After doing I had made my way to the laundry room to start a wash. I then returned to my bedroom at 8:24 to make my bed. After doing so I had shaved before stretching. Once I had completed my stretching routine I then preceded to strap on my ankle weights to do my leg exercises. My back still seem to hurt a little from my fall this past weekend at my sister so I continued to lay off the upper body workout. At 9:10 I then hung the load of laundry out to dry. At 9:25 I caught a brief news update to see what the weather was going to be like. After doing so, I had given my grandmother a ring before taking a shower. At 10:00 I then started a small load of laundry before sitting down to eat my lunch. At 10:20 I then had brushed my teeth, before hanging out yet another load of laundry to dry. I then grabbed my knapsack and out the door I went. United Wheelchair then brought me to WestSide. Upon my arrival for 12:30 p.m. I had sat in the lobby while waiting for Matt. At 1:00 Matt and I first went to the River Walk to do some walking. Todays goal matt had set for me, was to take rest breaks when I need them without being cued to do so. Once we had returned to WestSide at 2:00, we had gone out in the back yard to work on my balance. In doing so, We first did the ring toss, as I tried to get the ring around the pole while putting weight on my right leg without losing my balance. This is the side that was affected by the stroke. We then ended the session by passing the football back and fourth. I am still amazed at how well I can use my right arm to throw. While doing so I continued to work on my balance as I would step with my left foot and push off with my right, thus following through with the pass. At 3:00, Larry then took me home. I had arrived home at 4:17. Upon doing so, I had taken my shower before sitting down to blog. I then went into the kitchen to eat dinner.
