Going to the animal shelter
My Thursday morning began at 5:30 a.m. by eating some fruit while drinking my hot cocoa. After doing so, I then fixed myself a bowl of cereal with a half toasted english muffin. At 6:00 I then washed my dishes and picked up my kitchen before making my bed. At 6:08 I then brushed my teeth and shaved before starting in with my streches that have helped me each morning since having my last stroke. At 6:45 I then preceded to my back stretches. At 7:00 I then took a shower so as to get ready for the rest of my day. At 7:00 I then put in my eye and nose drops before taking two puffs of my inhaler. At 7:10 I then put a heat pack on my back for ten minutes before grabbing my knapsack and going to the lobby at 8:00. It was a snow storm day, so I had to rely on other means of transportation to get me to WestSide from where I live. Upon my arrival to WestSide, I had let Nancy know what time to pick me up. I then went inside to wait for my first therapy. While I was using my I pad Nurse Brenda had approached me at 8:45 so as to follow up with me using Nurse Sally's notes on my eye glasses ect. There were allot of therapists out today do to the snow storm, so Tobie had approached me, and aasked if I would like to go to the animal shelter. I replied, "Yes." We had arrived there at 9:00 a.m. During the two hours, Tobie showed me what the group did while they were there for two hours. Once dogs were out of there cages we then cleaned them by taking a squeegee and running it a crossed. the wet floors and walls that had already been sprayed down. I then filled the water trays the doges drink out of with clean water. Tobie then had me opening up donated newspaper to be used to put in the clean cages. During this new adventure I had to take frequent breaks. Being a task that I have never tried after my last stroke, feeling much like work, I became fatigued quite easily. We then went to leave at 10:55 and Tobie's car would not start, so we had to call WestSide to have someone come pick us up. Emma the physical therapist came to our rescue. Upon our arrival back to WestSide, my ride was there waiting. Once I had arrived back to my apartment at 11:35, My mother had called. Once off the telephone, I then made myself a salad. At 12:00 I then ate my lunch. At 12:30 I then brushed my teeth, I then lied down to rest. I had slept from 12:30-3:40 before waking. Once I had taken a shower, I then started a wash on my way to the village green to eat. Once I was in the village green, I had told the front desk, that I would need transportation to WestSide tomorrow, do to the stormy conditions. They let me know that Mark cancelled transportation for tomorrow, so he would be taking me in. At 4:45 I then began to play cribbage while waiting to eat. At 5:00 while playing, Marie from WestSide had called the front desk which is down in the village green. I had taken the call. She was wanting to know if I would like to go on a special event tomorrow out in the community shopping tomorrow at the Holiday Outlet then lunch after my morning therapy. At 530 I then ate dinner, before going back to my apartment. At 5:50 once I was back in my apartment, I had called my parents to let them know. She let me know that they already called her. I then put my laundry in the dryer, before pulling up my blog, so as to type of my day.
