Saying Good-Bye to Jamie
My Thursday morning began at 5:00 a.m. by making my bed. I then began to do my stretches that have been helping me each morning since having my last stroke. At 5:23 I then began to work my upper body by doing my weight exercises. At 5:27 I then finished my workout in my apartment at 5:27 by doing my back stretches. At 5:45 I then made my way to the fitness room down the hallway. I first started with a twenty cycling ride. At 6:10 I then stretches my calves before using the ten pound weight to do some upper body work. I then used the chest press before returning to my apartment at 6:20. At 6:30 I then had some breakfast. I had finished eating at 6:42 and began to do my dishes and pick my kitchen. At 6:50 I then made some ice before brushing my teeth. At 7:00 I then shaved before taking a shower. After doing so, I then put ten minutes of heat on my back followed by ten minutes of ice. At 8:00 I then went to the lobby to wait for United Wheelchair to arrive. Upon my arrival, for 9:00 I had met with Pattie for Success Group. Today I sent Brenda a Rehab Tech at WestSide who is formally a nurse to read my book that I have written. One of three people I need so as to give feedback on some changes that I make. At 10:00 I then went to the conference room for Healthy Brains Group. Jamie and Brenda first had us trying to make as many words as possible out of the word marbles. We then played a game of mind your marbles. Just as we were starting to play, Dan came into the room so as to get me and a friend of mine who have seizures. Right then and there, I new he was going to have a fire drill. With the flashing lights and noise from fire alarm, I would be sure do drop. Once we were all outside and all was accounted for, we resumed our therapy. At 11:00 during my rehab session with Jamie we had gone out into the community to do some walking. When we returned, I had given Jamie a hug and wished her the best of lunch in her new job. She will be missed. At 12:00 we returned to Westside. Just in time. Annie from United Wheelchair was there waiting for me. Upon my arrival to Schooner Estates, I had gone strait to the cafe in the village green so as to eat my lunch. AT 12:50 I then returned to my apartment. Once I had brushed my teeth, I then lied down to rest. I had slept from 1:00-4:00 before waking. I then brought my laundry to the laundry room so as to start a load of laundry. At 4:15 I then brought my laundry to the laundry room so as to start a wash. At 4:15 I then returned to my apartment so as to make a salad to eat. At 4:30 I then sat down to eat. Once I had finished eating at 5:00, I then had washed my dishes and picked up my kitchen. At 5:15 I then began to type my blog a try for the day. At 5:25 I then returned to the laundry room to put my laundry in the dryer before returning to my apartment so as to finish my daily blog entry.
