Making the best of a day off do to a winter snow storm

My Friday morning began at 5:30 a.m. by eating some fruit while drinking my hot cocoa. I then fixed myself a bowl of cereal to go with my toasted English muffin. Once I had finished eating, At 5:57 I then made my bed. At 6:00 Once I had brushed my teeth and shaved, I then washed my dishes before starting in with my stretches that have helped each morning since having my most recent stroke. At 6:33 I then began to do my back stretches. At 6:44 I then took my shower so as to get ready for the day ahead. At 7:08 I then put a heat pack on my back. At 7:30 I then went to the Camden Living Room, so as to have Mark take me to WestSide. It was a snowy and stormy day, so that was my only option. All transportation had been cancelled. Mark even cancelled transportation at Schooner. Upon my our arrival to WestSide, Lights were out and the door was lock. After the phone call last night from Marie, I did not know what to do. Upon my arrival back to my apartment at 9:30 I began to watch a movie on netflix. While doing so, Hanaford had called to let me know that my inhaler is in. At 10:10 my mother had called to let me know Optometric Associates had called to let me know that my new frames are in. At 11:30 the movie that I was watching had ended, so I then ate lunch. At 12:00 I then brushed my teeth before laying down to rest. I was so tired, I had slept from 12:00-3:00 before waking. A friend had then called. We talked for a while, I then took a shower before making my move in words with friends. At 4:40 I then went the village green. At 4:45 I then played cribbage before eating at 5:15. After a tossed salad I had a couple of crab cakes with macaroni salad. Once I had finished eating, I then returned to my apartment to change into a t-shirt and my gym shorts, so as to go to the gym. At 6:15 I then cycled for ten minutes. After going 1.25 miles, I then held a calf stretch for five minutes. At 6:30 I had grabbed the ten pound dumbbells, so as to continue my weight exercises. At 6:40 I then returned to my apartment to take a shower before pulling up my blog and typoing of my day.

Going to the animal shelter

My Thursday morning began at 5:30 a.m. by eating some fruit while drinking my hot cocoa. After doing so, I then fixed myself a bowl of cereal with a half toasted english muffin. At 6:00 I then washed my dishes and picked up my kitchen before making my bed. At 6:08 I then brushed my teeth and shaved before starting in with my streches that have helped me each morning since having my last stroke. At 6:45 I then preceded to my back stretches. At 7:00 I then took a shower so as to get ready for the rest of my day. At 7:00 I then put in my eye and nose drops before taking two puffs of my inhaler. At 7:10 I then put a heat pack on my back for ten minutes before grabbing my knapsack and going to the lobby at 8:00. It was a snow storm day, so I had to rely on other means of transportation to get me to WestSide from where I live. Upon my arrival to WestSide, I had let Nancy know what time to pick me up. I then went inside to wait for my first therapy. While I was using my I pad Nurse Brenda had approached me at 8:45 so as to follow up with me using Nurse Sally's notes on my eye glasses ect. There were allot of therapists out today do to the snow storm, so Tobie had approached me, and aasked if I would like to go to the animal shelter. I replied, "Yes." We had arrived there at 9:00 a.m. During the two hours, Tobie showed me what the group did while they were there for two hours. Once dogs were out of there cages we then cleaned them by taking a squeegee and running it a crossed. the wet floors and walls that had already been sprayed down. I then filled the water trays the doges drink out of with clean water. Tobie then had me opening up donated newspaper  to be used to put in the clean cages. During this new adventure I had to take frequent breaks. Being a task that I have never tried after my last stroke, feeling much like work, I became fatigued quite easily. We then went to leave at 10:55 and Tobie's car would not start, so we had to call WestSide to have someone come pick us up. Emma the physical therapist came to our rescue. Upon our arrival back to WestSide, my ride was there waiting. Once I had arrived back to my apartment at 11:35, My mother had called. Once off the telephone, I then made myself a salad. At 12:00 I then ate my lunch. At 12:30 I then brushed my teeth, I then lied down to rest. I had slept from 12:30-3:40 before waking. Once I had taken a shower, I then started a wash on my way to the village green to eat. Once I was in the village green, I had told the front desk, that I would need transportation to WestSide tomorrow, do to the stormy conditions. They let me know that Mark cancelled transportation for tomorrow, so he would be taking me in. At 4:45 I then began to play cribbage while waiting to eat. At 5:00 while playing, Marie from WestSide had called the front desk which is down in the village green. I had taken the call. She was wanting to know if I would like to go on a special event tomorrow out in the community shopping tomorrow at the Holiday Outlet then lunch  after my morning therapy. At 530 I then ate dinner, before going back to my apartment. At 5:50 once I was back in my apartment, I had called my parents to let them know. She let me know that they already called her. I then put my laundry in the dryer, before pulling up my blog, so as to type of my day.

Marie leading our Yoga workout

My Wednesday morning began at 6:30 a.m. by making my bed. After doing so, I then had some fruit while drinking my hot cocoa. I then fixed myself a bowl of cereal to go with half english muffin. Once I had picked up the kitchen, I then began to do my back stretches. I then preceded to do my stretches that I have been doing since having my last stroke before taking a shower and getting ready for my day ahead. At 8:00 I then grabbed my knapsack and went to the Camden living room to wait for United Wheelchair to arrive. While waiting, I then ask Sue the receptionist to put down for transportation tomorrow afternoon at 2:00 to go grocery shopping.  United soon arrived to take me to WestSide. Upon my arrival at 8:45, I sat in the lobby briefly waiting for my rehab session with Becca. At 9:00 Becca and I went to a treatment room to play three games of chess. At 10:00 I then went to the conference room for Yoga  group. Today Marie had us first following a workout online until the internet started to act up. Marie then just led us in a workout of her own. At 11:00 I then went to Priyadarshi's office for mindfulness and medication. Today we first checked in on how meditation and being mindful has help us over the week. We then engaged in a meditation practice. At 12:00 I then went to the lobby to meet my ride. Upon my arrival in my to apartment, Marylin was there changing the sheets on my bed. At 12:45 I then ate my lunch. After doing so, I then brushed my teeth and lied down to rest. I had slept from 1:00-3:50. Once I had taken a shower, I then went to the village green to eat. At 6:00 I then went back to my apartment. Once I had put on something more comfortable, I then pulled up my blog and began to type of my day.

Working in then computer lab with Tobie during my recreational therapy session

My Tuesday morning began at 5:00 a.m. by making my bed. After doing so I then fixed myself a cup of hot cocoa to go with my fruit. At 5:17 I then fixed myself a bowl of cereal with a half toasted english muffin. Once I had finished eating I then brushed my teeth and shaved before washing my dishes and picking up the kitchen. At 6:00 I then made my way to the fitness room. After a twenty cycling adventure, I Did three sets of twenty presses on the chest press. At 6:30 I then grabbed the dumbbells to continue my weight exercises. At 6:35 I then returned to my apartment so as to continue my workout. At 6:35 I then began to do the stretches that I have been doing each morning since having my last stroke. At 6:48 I then began to do my back stretches. At 7:00 I then showered and got ready for my day ahead. At 7:10 I then put a heat pack on my back. At 7:20 I had put my eye and nose drops in before taking two puffs of my inhaler. At 7:30 I then watched the news before going to the Camden living room to wait for United Wheelchair to arrive. While waiting I had given Mark a copy of the menu from the restaurant we had gone to yesterday in Augusta, Five Guys. At 9:15 United Wheelchair had arrived to take me to WestSide. Upon my arrival at 9:30, I had sat in the lobby waiting for my first therapy. At 10:00 I then made my way into the Tobie's office. We then went to the computer lab to work on my book, using the program spark that I had purchased. Tobie first had me type the steps in google docs, so that I could get into the spark program myself. We then began to copy and paste documents from word in spark. At 11:00 I then went to Sally's office. During  our nursing session, we had taken the time to go over to optometric associates to fix the lenses on my glasses fixed. Upon our arrival to WestSide at 11:45, we went back to WestSide to work on some other medical issues. At 12:00 David from United Wheelchair had picked me up from WestSide. Upon my arrival back, I had made myself a bite to eat. At 1:00 I then brushed my teeth before laying down to rest. I had slept three and one- half hours before waking at 4:30. I then. took a shower before going to the village green to eat. After doing so, I then.    Returned to my apartment at 6:15. Once I was comfortable, brushed my teeth, I then pulled up blog and typed of my day.

A Trip To The Maine State Library

My Monday morning began at 4:30 a.m. by. eating some fruit while drinking my hot cocoa. After doing so, I then toasted myself half of an english muffin to go with my bowl of cereal. Once I had finished eating, I then, at 5:00 I then brushed my teeth. Once I had made my bed, I then shaved before going to the fitness room. At 5:30 I then cycled for twenty minutes. After going 2.65 miles, I then stood on the incline board for ten minutes getting in a good calf stretch. At 5:43 I then grabbed the ten pound bar to continue my weights exercises. At 6:00, I then used the chest press. After three sets of twenty presses, i then grabbed the seven pound dumbbells and continued with my weight exercises. At 6:00 I then went back to my apartment. Once inside, I began to do my stoke stretches. I then finished off my workout with my back stretches before taking a shower. At 7:00 I then put a heat pack on my back for ten minutes. After doing so, I then put in my eye and nose drops before using my symbicort inhaler. After taking two puffs, At 8:00 I then grabbed my knapsack and went to the Camden living room to wait United Wheelchair to arrive. My ride had arrived at 8:30 and I had arrived at WestSide Neuro rehab at 8:45. Once inside, I had sat in the lobby waiting to leaving on our genealogy group outing with Jessica. At 9:20 we had loaded into the WestSide van and we were soon on our way. We had arrived within a half hours time at 10:00 a.m. Once inside the Maine State Library in Augusta, we shuffled through bookshelves and went on line reading and looking up our genealogy. I found it to be very interesting reading some of the information that I had found. After an hour and fifty minute stay, we had left the Library and went to five guys restaurant for lunch. After a half hour lunch, we loaded back into the van at 12:30 and were on our way. Upon our arrival to WestSide at 1:00 I had gone strait to the computer lab downstairs for recreational therapy group. Today Tobie continued to help me with my book along with another client. We had worked on putting documents from my book into the template that I had purchased. We then spoke about the size book that I would like. Making my book trade edition book 6x9 and 18 font. At 2:00 I then went to the lobby so as to meet my ride. Upon my arrival Back, 2:20 I lied down to rest. I had slept until 3:20 before receiving a call from Gezell letting me know that she would be coming up to my apartment to update my emergency information in a sleeve on the inside of one of my cupboards. This is for paramedics or emergency personal to refer to if anything should happen to me. At 4:22 I then filled out a voting ballet before taking a shower. At 5:00 I then started a wash on my way to the village green. At 5:15 I then ate my dinner. At 6:00 I then returned to my apartment. Along the way, I had put my laundry in the dryer. I then returned to my apartment, pulled up my blog and began type of my day.

Super Bowl Sunday

My Sunday morning began at 9:10 a.m. by eating some fruit while drinking my hot cocoa. At 9:48 I then fixed myself an egg cup with a toasted english muffin. At 10:00 I then brushed my teeth and shaved before giving the pharmacy a call to see if my script is ready. At 10:18 I then washed my dishes. Once they were put away, I then took two puffs of my inhaler. Once I had put my nose drops in, I then went to the fitness room. At 10:40 I then cycled for twenty minutes. After going 2.92 miles, I then stood on the incline board so as to stretch my calves. At 11:12 I then did three sets of twenty on the chest press. At 11:15 I had grabbed the ten pound bar before grabbing the seven pound dumbbells. At 11:25 I then went walking around the hallway before returning to my apartment at 11:35. I continued with my stretches that have helped me since having my last stroke. At 11:47 I then began to do my back stretches. At 12:00 I then took a shower. Once I was ready for the day ahead, I then did some reading, before laying down to rest. I had slept from 12:25-2:30. Once I had made myself a salad, I then sat down to eat. At 3:00 I then lied down to rest once again. While laying there, I had called my parents. I then eventually went to the village green to eat. Once I had finished eating, I then returned to my apartment to take a shower. After doing so, I then pulled up my blog so as to type of my day before watching the super bowl between the Chiefs and 49ers.

A day spent with Dad

My Saturday morning  began at 7:30 a.m. by eating some fruit while drinking my hot cocoa. At 7:55 I then fixed myself a bowl of cereal with banana with a piece of chocolate bread. At 8:06 I then brushed my teeth and shaved. At 8:26 I then washed my dishes and picked up my kitchen. At 8:35 Once I had made my bed, I then began to do my stretches that have helped each morning since having my last stroke. At 9:16 I then began to do my back stretches. At 9:30 I then took my laundry to the laundry room so as to start a load of laundry. At 9:37 I then filled my empty pill containers. At 9:50 my father had called to let me know that they will be leaving at 11:00 and will be here around 12:00 or a little after. At 10:05 I then called the pharmacy to order my inhaler. At 10:15 I then made my way to the fitness room. At 10:20 I then cycled for twenty minutes going 2.62 miles. At 10:45 I then held a calf stretch. At 10:45 I then grabbed the ten pound dumbbells and began to do my weight exercises. At 10:50 I then used the chest press. After three sets of twenty presses. I then grabbed the ten bar straight and worked out with that. At 10:55 I then walked around the hallways for a while before putting my laundry in dryer. At 11:05 I then returned to my apartment. Once I had taken a shower, I then put in my eye and nose drops before taking two puffs of my inhaler. At 11:35 I then put a heat pack on my back for ten minutes. At 12:00 My parents had arrived. I then went to get my laundry before leaving with them. At 12:16 we had arrived at my aunts, so as to drop my mother off. She was to go to a play with my aunt and her friend Lisa. Before doing so, we went to look at a home. My father and I went back to my apartment to get my glasses before going out to eat. After a bowl of clam chowder and a salad we then went to Wal-mart to  walk around. While there we met up with a friend and I also saw a nurse that works at Schooner Estates. At 3:15 we had left Wal-mart. At 3:25 we had arrived back at my apartment. At 3:40 I then folded my laundry and put it away. At 4:00 my father left to go to my aunts to pick my mother up. At 4:12 I then watched Sunday Mass. At 4:40 I then had taken a shower before going to the village green to eat. At 6:15 I then returned to my apartment. Once I was comfortable. I then pulled up my blog and began to type of my day.
